Ritika's Reply On Fan's Video Praising 'Selfless Captain' Rohit Is Viral

Rohit Sharma has played a key factor in India's steady performance in the last couple of years. Under his captaincy, the Indian cricket team entered the final of the World Test Championship and also the ODI Cricket World Cup. However, in recent times, Rohit Sharma lost his IPL captaincy as Mumbai Indians opted for Hardik Pandya. Praising Rohit Sharma's 'selfless' captaincy an instagram handle on Wednesday published a video praising Rohit Sharma's captaincy in the third India vs England Test.

The caption to the video read: "Is selfless captain ko yaad rakhoge na (You will remember this selfless captain right)?"

Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh reacted to  the video with a smiley. Her reaction was shared a lot on social media.

Recently, after Mumbai Indians coach Mark Boucher explained the logic behind this change in the leadership structure in a podcast, Rohit's wife Ritika took to social media to post a comment that triggered a fresh storm on the internet.

Boucher called the captaincy change decision purely a 'cricketing' one, as the franchise intended to lift some burden off Rohit's shoulders while giving Hardik the opportunity to continue growing as a captain, having already led the Gujarat Titans to two successive IPL finals.

"I think it was purely a cricketing decision. We saw the window period to get Hardik back as a player. For me it's a transition phase. A lot of people don't understand in India, people get quite emotional, but you know you take the emotions away from it. I think it's just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs," Mark Boucher said on Smash Sports podcast.

Ritika, reacting to the podcast, wrote in the comment section: "So many things wrong with this..."

Further in the podcast, Boucher said he wanted Rohit to focus more on his batting, hence decided to take away the captaincy responsibility from him, putting Hardik in the spotlight, enabling the Hitman to play freely.

"One thing I did pick up with Ro (Rohit) is that he is a fantastic guy. I mean he's been captaining for ages and he's done really well for Mumbai Indians. Now he also leads India as well. It is that he walks into a place and there's just cameras in it and he's so busy and he hasn't had probably the best couple of seasons of late with the bat but he's done well as a captain."

156.7 Kmph Sensation Awaits India Debut, Bangladesh Start Life After Shakib

Pace sensation Mayank Yadav is expected to unleash his raw speed while the absence of India's T20 regulars will provide another opportunity to the fringe players in the three-match series against Bangladesh, beginning here Sunday. Having consistently generated speed in excess of 150kmph in his maiden IPL earlier this year, Mayank had drawn the attention of the cricketing world before a side strain ruled him out of the tournament. Usually, one has to prove fitness in domestic cricket to be considered for national selection but the 22-year-old has been fast-tracked into the side considering his special talent. The series against Bangladesh will be a test of his fitness and temperament. It is yet to be figured if he can display the same accuracy and control that he exhibited in the IPL. Besides Mayank, fellow Delhi pacer Harshit Rana and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy could also make their India debut over the course of the series. Nitish was picked for the Zimbabwe tour post the T...

PCB Not Happy With Pak Star Over Social Media Post On Babar Snub: Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not pleased that Fakhar Zaman questioned the selection panel's decision to sideline Babar Azam from the Test side. The panel dropped former captain Babar Azam when they announced the squad for the remaining two Tests against England in Multan and Rawalpindi. Zaman took to X to question the decision, inviting the ire of the PCB. "The top board officials are not pleased with the tweet sent out by Fakhar and relevant persons are having a word with him about it," a well-informed PCB source said. "It's concerning to hear suggestions about dropping Babar Azam. India didn't bench Virat Kohli during his rough stretch between 2020 and 2023, when he averaged 19.33, 28.21, and 26.50, respectively. "If we are considering sidelining our premier batsman, arguably the best Pakistan has ever produced, it could send a deeply negative message across the team. There is still time to avoid pressing the panic button; we should focus on sa...
