Jay Shah's Quick Act To End Champions Trophy Deadlock? Calls Meeting For...

Jay Shah, former BCCI secretary, took over as the ICC chairman on December 1. Among matters that demand his immediate attention, the Champions Trophy 2025 must be on top of his list. Currently, the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are involved in a tussle over the hosting venue of the Champions Trophy 2025. The BCCI has said that the Indian cricket team will not travel to Pakistan, the designated hosts of the Champions Trophy, while the PCB has shown strong dissent over a hybrid model of hosting. After taking over as ICC chairman, Jay Shah didn't make any comment on the Champions Trophy while outlining his priorities for his term which included leveraging the sport's inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games as an opportunity and further accelerate the growth of the women's game. "Situation Not Suited": Pakistan Given Major Blow On Champions Trophy Row

Former spinner Harbhajan Singh reaffirmed his stance by stating that he doesn't "expect" that the Indian team will travel to Pakistan for next year's ICC Champions Trophy. The future of the ICC Champions Trophy has been covered in a veil of uncertainty after India held firm on its stance to not send the men's cricket team to Pakistan. On the other hand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been persistent about not switching to a hybrid model and hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan. Harbhajan backed India's stance of not sending the team to Pakistan for the marquee event and told ANI, "I have said this before. I don't think Team India will travel to Pakistan." "I don't think the situation is suited to go there and play. People in Pakistan love cricket and the Indian team. But considering the situation, I don't think Team India will travel. Governments are involved, and they are making the decisions," Harbhajan added. La...

Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah , the main architects behind India's massive 295-run win over Australia in the 1st Test in Perth, skipped the two-day pink-ball practice match against Prime Minister's XI. Instead, the two were seen facing off against each other in an intense net session at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. It was a no show from Kohli and Bumrah as the duo did not feature at all in the second day of the tour game after the opening day of the match was completely washed out. In a viral video, Bumrah, the architect behind India's thumping win over Australia at the Optus Stadium, was seen bowling to Kohli, who regained his confidence after smashing his 30th Test century last week.
